Gloria M. Villanueva, Vice President Claims Management Services has been at Andreini & Company since 2000. In her role she maintains relationships and communications with clients and carriers.
Gloria will conduct claim review meetings with the carrier and client and provides management of client’s claims to create effective, efficient, and proactive strategies to reduce costs and mitigate exposures. She will evaluate and challenge excess reserves and insure proper claims handling by insurance carriers. Gloria will assist in selecting and setting up the appropriate medical clinics as well as developing effective first aid programs for clients. She will review published experience modifications as well as calculate experience modification projections. In addition she provides information on the changes in Workers’ Compensation laws and legislation in order to educate clients on how this may impact them.
Prior to Andreini & Company Gloria honed her skills as she worked at a variety of insurance carriers. The carriers included Fremont Indemnity, Pacific States Casualty, UniCare Insurance, and Argonaut Insurance. Her experience included handling large accounts such as the BART construction and San Francisco Airport construction projects. In her capacity she prepared large loss reports for upper management and she assisted in training and supervision.
Her primary duties consisted in the review, investigation, analysis, and resolution of lost-time and litigated workers’ compensation claims. She established claim reserves and revised these as needed within authority guidelines. She met with clients to review claim activity, action plans, and status of claims. In addition she would delegate assignments to approved vendor partners and monitor these assignments. Gloria worked closely with claims counsel on litigated claims and attended hearings as needed. She negotiated settlement of claims within designated authority and investigated claims for subrogation and fraud.
