Vice-President and Director of Claims
Kathie Weldy, Vice President Claim Operations, joined Andreini & Company in 2015. In her current role she will provide guidance and oversight to four Andreini claim professionals as well as bring her extensive claim background to the forefront. Her overall responsibility focuses on claim account management, claim service to the client, ensuring that the client is kept apprised of trends and exposure, litigation management and ensuring that the overall outcome is favorable. She has a strong background in construction claim management as well as a variety of other industry segments.
Kathie’s prior experience was at Old Republic Construction Program Group from 2006-2015. She had oversight of 400 auto, general liability and workers’ compensation claims, 130 accounts and TPA Gallagher Bassett.
She was Claim Manager, Auto, General Liability at Cambridge Integrated Services Group Inc./Reliance Insurance from 2000-2006. She oversaw 14 file handlers and 2 supervisors with a variety of clients and exposures. Clients ranged from a fuel haulers program that included pollution exposure, habitational programs; a national manufacturer of equipment; and an insurance regulatory client. She served as Corporate Internal and External Oversight Auditor for two years which included drafting the Cambridge Best Practices/Audit Programs, DOI compliance, national training on Liability Best Practices and trend reporting. She also completed independent external auditing for clients.
From 1996 to 2000 she was a Supervisor at General Electric where she was responsible for a niche-program claim operation of 8-12 claim handlers with various exposures including E&O, EPL, Property, Inland Marine, CGL, Commercial Auto and Truckers/Garagekeepers. National niche programs included theme parks, refuse operators, pest control companies and wholesale distributors/truckers. She provided oversight, auditing and due diligence of TPA operations for self-insured clients.
Kathie started her career at Aetna Life and Casualty as a Senior Claim Representative from 1989-1996. She was a National Account representative for large national companies – Carl Karcher, Ritz Carlton, Morrison Knudsen. She was the dedicated representative for all Hawaii operations.
Kathie holds the AIC Designation, the CRIS Designation and has been a speaker at the national Claims and Liability Management conference. In addition, she holds a Six Sigma Green Belt designation with GE.
She has travelled extensively and enjoys the outdoors.
