Steven Passerine is the Director of Surety, Senior Vice President at Andreini & Company. His team has the capacity to place contract bonds for performance guarantees, offsite improvement bonds for real estate developers, license and permit bonds for clients engaged in a variety of industries, along with financial guarantee instruments to support financial obligations. His knowledge of construction, law, accounting and finance has allowed his clients opportunities to work on and qualify for many high profile projects throughout the country and Canada.
Steve Passerine began his Surety bond career after serving 8 years in the military. The first two years were with the Marine Corps as a Platoon leader in Viet Nam; the next six years as a weapons systems officer with the USAF in the back seat of the F-4.
Steve began his bond career with the Fidelity & Deposit Company in 1977. He was promoted to manage the Denver Branch office in 1981 and subsequently transferred to manage the San Francisco office in 1984 growing production in that office by over 250%.
Needing a new challenge, in 1988 he began his bond broker career with a local San Francisco insurance agency that eventually became AON. At AON he was promoted to the Northwest Coast Vice President for several western states and Northern California where he remained for 12 years.
Steve was the National Surety Director for Gallagher Construction Services for three years. Union Bank then subsequently tapped Steve’s expertise to open a bond division for the Bank headquartered in San Francisco and he was there six years. The Union Bank division was eventually acquired by BB&T.
Seizing a new opportunity, Steve joined Andreini & Company in 2010 where he now serves as Surety Director. Steve is active in many industry organizations including the AGC, United Contractors, CFMA and the NASBP.
